Nicki was born and raised in and around St. Louis, Missouri. She is a diehard Cardinals baseball fan, hates the Cubs, and loves to spend time with her husband, stepson, family, and friends. An avid book lover, her perfect day would consist of being on a beach with a fruity drink in one hand, and a book in the other. Nicki and her husband have 2 dogs and 2 cats that are spoiled beyond rotten, and will randomly make appearances during her training sessions just to say hi to her clients.
Nicki has been in healthcare since she graduated high school in 2002. After working in medical billing for a few years, she decided that she wanted to get into the dental field.
Nicki graduated Valedictorian with an associate degree of Fine Arts in Dental Assisting in 2008. She was a Student Ambassador, Student of the Quarter, and Perfect Attendance recipient. After graduating, she was also selected to be on her college's dental advisory board.
After working chairside as well as handling scheduling at a pediatric office, she realized that administration, management, and training were her true calling, although she kept assisting as needed throughout her career.
In 2014, she started work as a Front Desk Team Member at a large DSO. She also took on the responsibility of being one of their affiliate trainers. Four years later, she wanted more of a challenge, and became the Office Manager for a 20-operatory, 6-doctor, 7-assistant, 9-hygienist, and 4-admin staff office within that DSO, while continuing to be an Affiliate Trainer. Skip forward another 3 years, and she accepted a position as a National Training Specialist in 2021.
In 2022, After a successful 8-year run with the same company, they were bought out by another large DSO. It was at this point that she went out on her own and became a Certified Dentrix Trainer in August of 2022.
She has worked with hundreds of offices teaching them Dentrix, and sharing all of the tips and tricks she's learned over the years. After many requests from her clients to get additional help and advice outside of training, Nicki created Baker Consulting and Management to do just that.
